Like carpets over beautiful hardwood, this accent wall project was meant to emulate the appearance of a property owner simply tearing down drywall to expose the original construction of a brick building.
Accents such as the concrete support stretching from floor to ceiling, brick-filled window, and wood layers combine to give an impression of authentic, original construction. Our client wanted to emphasize the warm, industrial feel of this condo with exposed brick; but due to the concrete construction of this building, there was no brick to expose! Using thin-brick veneer and our knowledge of historical masonry, we delivered a product that not only gave our clients the rustic warmth they were looking for, but also a distinct sense of authenticity they didn’t know they wanted. By mimicking historical bricklaying methods, and creating the appearance of a filled window, we brought this space a sense of history that made it truly unique.
